Who this is for

Is this right for your home?

  • Homes with draughty or warped doors
  • Doors that are hard to lock or close
  • Older patio doors with fogged glass
  • Homeowners improving curb appeal and comfort together

Signs it's time

Worth a closer look if…

  • Light or air coming in around the edges
  • Frost or condensation on the inside of the door
  • A door that sticks or won't latch
  • Worn or missing weatherstripping
  • Fogged glass in a patio door
  • Cold floors near the entrance

Upgrade or stay put

What changes, and what doesn't

Real costs depend on your home, so we don't publish guesses. Your written package puts actual numbers on both options.

If you stay put

Draughts at the entry and patio keep cooling the rooms around them, and worn doors become a security concern.

If you upgrade

A tighter, quieter, more secure entrance and fewer cold spots near doors.

Rebates & financing

Rebates for doors

  • $100 per rough opening for each exterior door, skylight or sliding door replaced with an ENERGY STAR certified model.
  • A single door opening qualifies, as part of the program stream that starts with a home energy assessment.
  • $600 back for the home energy assessment itself.

As listed by the Home Renovation Savings program and its eligibility requirements in September 2026. The program administrator makes the final decision. Official sources: Save on Energy · Enbridge Gas

Financing

Spread the cost of your upgrade over time. Financing is available to qualifying customers, subject to lender approval and applicable terms, and is set out in your written package.

FAQ

Doors questions

More answers on the FAQ page, or ask during your consultation.

Steel or fibreglass?

Both insulate well. Fibreglass resists dents and suits wood-look finishes; steel is often more budget-friendly. We show both options.

How long does a door replacement take?

Most single doors are installed in a day.

Can you just replace the weatherstripping?

Sometimes that is enough, and we'll tell you when it is.

Do new doors need to be ENERGY STAR certified?

Rebate programs that cover doors generally require certified models, so we confirm eligibility before you choose.
