Heating & cooling
Water heaters
Hot water is the second-largest energy load in most Canadian homes. We install tank, tankless and heat pump water heaters, and show you the long-run cost of owning versus renting.
What we offer
Water heaters, done properly
Tankless water heaters
Hot water on demand with no tank to keep warm, including Navien and Rheem models.
Heat pump water heaters
The most efficient option for electric water heating.
Conventional tanks
Straightforward replacements when a tank is the right fit.
Own vs. rent comparison
If you rent your tank today, we lay out what owning costs over time.
Who this is for
Is this right for your home?
- Homes with a water heater 10 or more years old
- Households that run out of hot water
- Anyone paying a monthly rental fee on a tank
- Homes adding bathrooms or a larger family
Signs it's time
Worth a closer look if…
- The tank is 10 years old or older
- Hot water runs out sooner than it used to
- Rusty or discoloured water
- Water pooling around the base
- Rumbling or popping from the tank
- A rental fee that has quietly kept rising
Upgrade or stay put
What changes, and what doesn't
Real costs depend on your home, so we don't publish guesses. Your written package puts actual numbers on both options.
If you stay put
An older tank loses heat around the clock, and a leak or failure can damage flooring and belongings. Rental fees continue for as long as the tank stays.
If you upgrade
A tankless or heat pump unit can cut the energy spent on hot water, and owning ends the rental payments.
Rebates & financing
Rebates for water heating
- ENERGY STAR certified heat pump water heaters: $500, as part of the program stream that starts with a home energy assessment.
- The home energy assessment itself: $600 back when you complete the program steps.
- Conventional tank and tankless gas water heaters are not listed upgrades in this program.

Tankless or tank: which is better?
Tankless suits homes with steady demand and room for proper venting. Tanks can be simpler to install. We recommend based on your household, gas line and venting.
Do you install Navien and Rheem?
Yes. Both are among the brands we install.
What happens to my rental tank?
We explain your options, including any buyout terms in your rental agreement, before you decide.
How long does installation take?
Most replacements are done in a day. Converting from a tank to tankless can take longer where venting or gas lines need changes.
