Who this is for

Is this right for your home?

  • Homes with a sound, mostly unshaded roof
  • Households with high or rising electricity use
  • Homes adding a heat pump or an EV
  • Owners planning to stay for years

Signs it's time

Worth a closer look if…

  • Electricity is a large and growing part of your bills
  • You are switching to a heat pump or an EV
  • Your roof was recently replaced or is in good shape
  • You want more control over where your energy comes from

Upgrade or stay put

What changes, and what doesn't

Real costs depend on your home, so we don't publish guesses. Your written package puts actual numbers on both options.

If you stay put

You keep buying all your electricity from the grid at whatever rates apply, including as your usage grows with a heat pump or an EV.

If you upgrade

Your own generation offsets part of what you buy. How much depends on your roof, your usage and how your utility credits exported power.

Rebates & financing

Rebates for solar

  • Solar panels and battery storage: up to $10,000, with no home energy assessment needed.
  • Rebates are paid for eligible systems only, under the program's rules.
  • Receiving a solar rebate can affect other arrangements with your utility, so we check this with you before you apply.

FAQ

Solar panels questions

More answers on the FAQ page, or ask during your consultation.

Do solar panels work in Canadian winters?

Yes, though output drops in the shortest, snowiest months. Panels are efficient in cold weather, and most production happens from spring to fall.

Will solar keep my power on in an outage?

Not on its own. A grid-tied system shuts off for safety during an outage. Backup requires a battery and the right switching equipment.

Do I need a new roof first?

If your roof has only a few years left, yes. Replacing it later means removing and reinstalling the panels.

How is my system sized?

From your electricity use over a full year and your time-of-use pattern, plus any heat pump or EV you have or plan to add.
