Roofing

Roof replacement and repair, planned as Phase 3. If solar is anywhere in your future, the roof goes on first, so panels never have to come off to fix what is underneath.

Upgrade or stay put

What changes, and what doesn't

Real costs depend on your home, so we don't publish guesses. Your written package puts actual numbers on both options.

If you stay put

Small leaks grow into damage to the deck, insulation and ceilings, and a failing roof blocks any plan for solar.

If you upgrade

A sound roof that protects everything below it, and a ready base for solar panels that last for decades.

FAQ

Roofing questions

More answers on the FAQ page, or ask during your consultation.

Why replace the roof before solar?

Panels are designed to last for decades. If the roof fails first, the panels have to be removed and reinstalled, which adds real cost.

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most homes take one to three days, depending on size, pitch and weather.

Can you repair instead of replace?

When a roof has good years left, a repair makes sense, and we'll say so.

Does roofing qualify for energy rebates?

Roofing itself generally does not. Attic insulation and ventilation work done at the same time may, depending on the program.
