Upgrade or stay put
What changes, and what doesn't
Real costs depend on your home, so we don't publish guesses. Your written package puts actual numbers on both options.
If you stay put
Dry or stale air, uneven comfort, and heating and cooling that run on a schedule that doesn't match your day.
If you upgrade
Healthier, more comfortable air and controls that trim energy use by only running when you need it.

Does a smart thermostat really save energy?
It helps most when it matches heating and cooling to when you are home. With a heat pump, choose one designed for it, and avoid deep setbacks that trigger backup heat.
What is the difference between an HRV and an ERV?
Both bring in fresh air while recovering heat from the air going out. An ERV also transfers some moisture, which can help in very dry or humid conditions.
What humidity should my home be in winter?
Around 30 to 40 percent relative humidity suits most homes, lower during extreme cold to avoid window condensation.
Will a new thermostat work with my system?
We check compatibility with your furnace, heat pump or hybrid setup before recommending one.
